Summer Bucket List

🏖☀️

This is a fun End of Year Activity I love doing with my students before the last day of the Madrasah year ♡

It’s such fun seeing their excitement for the holidays!

This is how we do it:

Step 1: Brainstorm ideas of activities according to the students’ interests/ages with them. Ensure that all are Shari’ah compliant and involve self-improvement, too.

Step 2: Make a comprehensive list on the board

Step 3: They can now choose to write as many as they prefer to their lists and then design and decorate their lists!

P.S: Don’t forget to remind them to make the correct Niyyāt (intentions) for the holidays / their fun activities.

I hope you and your students enjoy this activity as much as I and my students do!

Request for special du’ās for myself and my family.

Qaidah Part 1 & Entering Qur’ān Certificates

Alhumdulillāh, after designing different certificates for teachers over the last three weeks, I’ve decided to make some of them available to everyone who needs them. (Keep your eyes peeled for more certificate templates coming soon – Inshā’Allāh within this week)

There’s also space to add in each child’s name, the teacher’s name and year.

Simply click the ‘download’ button below and print off these certificates. You can edit them using a PDF editor or hand write the names.

You can even laminate them to make them more durable and have a shiny finish.

May Allāh reward you in abundance for your efforts and place the love of Dīn and attending Madrasah in the hearts of your students. Āmīn

Please remember my family and I in your du’ās.

Was Salāmu Alaikum Wa Rahmatullāhi Wa Barakātuh

Eid Treats Pack

Rasulullah ﷺ said: (stte)
إنَّ الصَّدقةَ لتطفئُ غضبَ الرَّبِّ وتدفعُ مِيتةَ السُّوءِ
Surely, charity will extinguish Allāh’s Anger and ward against an evil death.

Last Ramadan (1442H), making Eid treat boxes for the poorer communities around Durban CBD. This was an initiative my mother and I undertook with our classes.

My beloved father رحمه الله loved assisting those in need and this initiative was one that he was very happy and supportive of. The boxes were packed into my beloved father’s رحمه الله car and he and I went to 3 of the Musallas in the Durban CBD that he used to run to hand them out to the students in the Maktab.

This reel gives you a sneak peek into how we packed approx. 150 boxes Alhumdulillah.

This initiative can be undertaken at any time of the year. If anyone takes inspiration from this, we request you to please make intention for the Esaal uth thawaab of my beloved father رحمه الله.

P.S: if you’d like any tips or ideas on what we did, feel free to message me 💕

If you intend on taking inspiration, I’d like to gift you a printed pack to make the logistics of your initiative easy, Inshā’Allāh! [For the Eesaluth Thawaab of Mufti Muhammad Hashim Amod رحمه الله]

The “Eid Treats Pack” file is also available as a PDF. Download it here: 📥

🖌 If you’d like to print it out and would like me to customize the digital file for you, message me!

Request for special duas for my beloved father رحمه الله and my family

All About My Nabi ﷺ

⁣⁣Intentions for this activity: ⁣⁣

• Gain more knowledge about our beloved Nabi ﷺ

⁣• Inspire love in the hearts of the students for Nabi ﷺ

⁣• Inspire the desire to follow his ways ﷺ

⁣(among others) ⁣⁣

💡 You could use this as a revision activity, a beginning of the year activity or make this an entire Seerah lesson itself (I did that because I felt like the kids knew much more about people around us and other famous people than what they knew about Nabi ﷺ)⁣⁣⁣

📋 You could stick these up and/or dedicate a wall in the classroom to “All about My Nabi ﷺ”

Download here:

⁣⁣⁣I hope you find this useful and beneficial for your classroom and students inshaAllah.⁣⁣⁣

Revision for Subjects – Aqaaid, Fiqh, Islamic History & Akhlaaq

It’s that time of the year again, Alhumdulillah!

I’ve had this in my drafts ever since November last year but finally decided to post it now. Alhumdulillah.

For tips on the revision of Orals, click here: https://madrasahteacher.wordpress.com/2020/11/09/revision-of-surahs-duas-hadeeth/

𝐇𝐞𝐫𝐞 𝐚𝐫𝐞 𝐬𝐨𝐦𝐞 𝐟𝐮𝐧 𝐰𝐚𝐲𝐬 𝐭𝐨 𝐫𝐞𝐯𝐢𝐬𝐞 𝐬𝐮𝐛𝐣𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐬 𝐬𝐮𝐜𝐡 𝐚𝐬 𝐅𝐢𝐪𝐡, 𝐀𝐪𝐚𝐚𝐢𝐝, 𝐇𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐨𝐫𝐲 & 𝐀𝐤𝐡𝐥𝐚𝐚𝐪.⁣

• 𝐐𝐮𝐢𝐳𝐳𝐞𝐬: ⁣

Class Quizzes are one of the most fun and effective ways to revise work.

⁣- The class can be split into groups/teams. Ideally, Girls on 1 team and Boys in another team. ⁣

– Mention your rules for the quiz such as ‘no shouting out answers’ etc

⁣- Set an incentive or reward for the winning team.

⁣- Draw up a score board on the board. ⁣

– You should ensure to ask questions of similar difficulty to each group in 1 round. ⁣

𝐌𝐲 𝐟𝐚𝐯𝐨𝐮𝐫𝐢𝐭𝐞 𝐪𝐮𝐢𝐳 𝐭𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐈’𝐯𝐞 𝐭𝐫𝐢𝐞𝐝 𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐬 𝐰𝐞𝐞𝐤:⁣

I made the quiz more fun/challenging by giving each team a chance to set questions for the other team.

And they can appoint a leader (or you can!) to question the other team. (You’d actually be surprised at what difficult questions they asked and how strict they were with giving points! Hehe)⁣

✨ This is a no prep activity if you use the questions found after each lesson in the textbook.

Or, you can use a past paper to choose questions from.⁣

𝘈𝘨𝘦 𝘢𝘱𝘱𝘳𝘰𝘱𝘳𝘪𝘢𝘵𝘦: 𝟽 𝘶𝘱𝘸𝘢𝘳𝘥𝘴 (𝘎𝘳𝘢𝘥𝘦 𝟷)

⁣⁣• 𝐏𝐨𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐫/𝐁𝐞 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐭𝐞𝐚𝐜𝐡𝐞𝐫

⁣Select a few lessons from the kitab from which each student should choose 1 lesson to design a creative A4 poster together with a little presentation or revision of the lesson.⁣

Each child can then present the lesson with the poster to the rest of the class.⁣

Again, this is a no prep activity and you can choose an incentive for those that complete this activity (such as free time or reading time or even R5/R10)⁣This revision activity can be done in pairs or in groups also.⁣

𝘈𝘨𝘦: 𝟿 𝘶𝘱𝘸𝘢𝘳𝘥𝘴 (𝘎𝘳𝘢𝘥𝘦 𝟹)⁣⁣

• 𝐒𝐞𝐭 𝐚𝐧 𝐞𝐱𝐚𝐦 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐚 𝐟𝐫𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐝

⁣- Pair the students up (use your discretion and avoid pairs where personalities clash, 2 high-achievers or 2 low-achievers)

⁣- Choose a specific amount of lessons

– Ask them to prepare an exam/test for the partner⁣ on those lessons

– Once they’ve prepared it, ask them to swap papers and give them a time limit to complete.

Then, swap papers back again and each gets to mark the paper they set.

𝘈𝘨𝘦: 𝟷𝟶 𝘶𝘱𝘸𝘢𝘳𝘥𝘴 (𝘎𝘳𝘢𝘥𝘦 𝟺)

• 𝐋𝐞𝐬𝐬𝐨𝐧 𝐩𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧/𝐁𝐞 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐓𝐞𝐚𝐜𝐡𝐞𝐫⁣

At the beginning of the Madrasah day/time, Choose 1 lesson for each/few students and give them time during class to prepare the lesson as revision. ⁣

They can be creative or use the board. (Don’t forget to say: ‘Today Moulana Hanzalah/Apa Maariyah (use child’s name) will be teaching us today! – they love it!

)⁣𝘈𝘨𝘦 𝘢𝘱𝘱𝘳𝘰𝘱𝘳𝘪𝘢𝘵𝘦: 𝟷𝟶 𝘺𝘦𝘢𝘳𝘴 𝘶𝘱𝘸𝘢𝘳𝘥𝘴 (𝘎𝘳𝘢𝘥𝘦 𝟺 𝘶𝘱𝘸𝘢𝘳𝘥𝘴)⁣

• 𝐏𝐢𝐜𝐤 𝐮𝐩 𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐜𝐤𝐬/𝐈𝐜𝐞 𝐜𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐦 𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐜𝐤𝐬

⁣⁣Use the same set of sticks that were used for your Orals revision and stick questions onto them. ⁣⁣

If the student answers correctly, he/she or if in teams, they get to keep the stick.

Winner is the one with the most amount of sticks.⁣⁣

𝘈𝘨𝘦 𝘢𝘱𝘱𝘳𝘰𝘱𝘳𝘪𝘢𝘵𝘦: 7 𝘶𝘱𝘸𝘢𝘳𝘥𝘴 (𝘎𝘳𝘢𝘥𝘦 𝟺 𝘶𝘱𝘸𝘢𝘳𝘥𝘴)⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣

• 𝐁𝐨𝐚𝐫𝐝 𝐠𝐚𝐦𝐞⁣⁣

Use any board from a board game (P.s: make sure it has no animate objects/features).

Make your own question cards or use a past year exam paper. (use different types of questioning styles like True/False etc also).

⁣⁣- You can pair the students up or make teams for this game.⁣⁣

– Use the 30 seconds timer. ⁣⁣

– Winning team is the one that answers most questions correctly (1 point per answer/move 1 space per each correct answer)

⁣⁣𝘈𝘨𝘦 𝘢𝘱𝘱𝘳𝘰𝘱𝘳𝘪𝘢𝘵𝘦: 𝟿 𝘶𝘱𝘸𝘢𝘳𝘥𝘴 (𝘎𝘳𝘢𝘥𝘦 𝟹 𝘶𝘱𝘸𝘢𝘳𝘥𝘴)⁣⁣⁣

May Allah Ta’ala make it easy for your students and bless them with understanding and amal. Aameen.
