• Inspire love in the hearts of the students for Nabi ﷺ
• Inspire the desire to follow his ways ﷺ
(among others)
💡 You could use this as a revision activity, a beginning of the year activity or make this an entire Seerah lesson itself (I did that because I felt like the kids knew much more about people around us and other famous people than what they knew about Nabi ﷺ)
📋 You could stick these up and/or dedicate a wall in the classroom to “All about My Nabi ﷺ”
Relax Testing Tips Poster created for my classroom
Exams, Tests, Marks and End of the year = High stress levels & anxiety for students & teachers.
While most of us will be using our best stern face during the next few weeks, here are a few 💡𝐓𝐢𝐩𝐬 𝐨𝐧 𝐜𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐚 𝐏𝐨𝐬𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐞 𝐓𝐞𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠/𝐄𝐱𝐚𝐦 𝐄𝐧𝐯𝐢𝐫𝐨𝐧𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭💖

Even small environmental changes for students can result in big changes in performance.
When students are more relaxed, they tend to perform better and this is particularly true for students who face academic challenges.
After creating this poster, someone very dear to me asked me to create the same poster for her so I thought of designing it on the computer instead of making another one!
I wanted to create them as cost effective (less ink) and with calm colours so it can be of benefit to anyone inshaAllah
➡️𝟐~ 𝐆𝐞𝐭 𝐎𝐫𝐠𝐚𝐧𝐢𝐳𝐞𝐝
Make sure your students have everything they will need to take the tests, including a ruler, eraser, pencils and colours.
I like to make them make a list of what they’ll need and bring all items neatly labelled 1/2 days prior to exams.
➡️𝟑~ 𝐒𝐩𝐚𝐜𝐞 𝐨𝐮𝐭 𝐬𝐞𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠
Allow them to keep their usual ‘places’ for comfort but extra spaced out than usual to minimize distraction and temptation to cheat. I like to give them cardboard folders to place in front of them to cover their tests and keep them focused on their own tests.
➡️𝟒~ 𝐃𝐮𝐚
Most importantly, Start every exam session with 2 Rakaats of Nafl Salaah and Dua.

Alhumdulillah, some of our Madaaris have re-opened while some are re-opening soon.
May Allah grant ease to every teacher and student and accept all the efforts made for His Deen. Aameen.
Below I have attached some resources that I created for my class’s return on the 13th of July.
I hope you find them as beneficial as I did. If you require anything else to assist you (worksheets, posters, ideas etc) in returning to Madrasah, please feel free to contact me on madrasahteacher@gmail.com or @madrasahteacher on Instagram.
You can find pictures of how these were used on my Instagram page.
Alhumdulillāh we are very fortunate to be part of such a noble profession wherein Allāh Ta’ala has granted us the opportunity to teach His noble Qur’ān.
For every letter taught and which will be recited by the learner in the future, the teacher will be rewarded.
The ability to read the Qur’an also permeates into many facets of our Deen like our Salaah and Surahs.
Every year, before commencing Sabaq for the year, I like to do a lesson on the respect of the Qur’ān, etiquettes and some virtues. Thereafter, I hand out these bookmarkers to each learner that serves as a daily reminder for the learners.
This bookmarker/Qur’ān Shareef Marker can be printed and learners can decorate, colour and personalise also. The back portion can also be decorated with a quote of choice regarding Qur’ān and Deen. Thereafter, laminate it and use daily. 🌺
Some tips for Learning Sabaq in Class:
*The sabaq should be read 7 – 10 times in class and before coming to Madrasah.
*The sabaq could be read collectively a few times and then individually a few times.
*My personal preference is: the Sabaq is learnt / read in pairs, one student is reciting while the other corrects mistakes and vice versa.
If this is done effectively, then the next day the learner will know the Sabaq well. Inshā Allāh. Total learning time in class should be 10-15 minutes.
May Allah make us worthy of teaching His Noble Qur’an and may He accept all our efforts. Aameen.
بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم Classroom privilege is an exciting initiative for learners especially with 8-12year old learners. The 𝐕.𝐈.𝐏 privilege in a classroom can be used in many ways. I’ve tried the following methods: 1} I have written the names of my learners, folded them up and placed into a case and each day, I pick one out without letting anyone know the name. The name is then placed into a “used/done” case. For the entire Madrasah time, every time he/she is exceeding expectations and doing very well, I make comments such as: “Mashā’ Allāh, the 𝐕.𝐈.𝐏 is doing his/her work so well” or “The 𝐕.𝐈.𝐏 is learning his Sabaq and following instructions mashā’ Allāh”. (Take note that learners are still unaware who this learner is) If the learner is misbehaving or not following instructions, I make comments such as: “I hope the 𝐕.𝐈.𝐏 is going to pay attention” or “I wonder if there’ll be a 𝐕.𝐈.𝐏 tomorrow”. 𝐀𝐭 𝐝𝐢𝐬𝐦𝐢𝐬𝐬𝐚𝐥 𝐭𝐢𝐦𝐞, 𝐈 𝐚𝐧𝐧𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐜𝐞 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐧𝐚𝐦𝐞 𝐨𝐟 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐕.𝐈.𝐏!!! 📢 4 years ago, when I started method, I had the names of the learners written once each and placed into the case, which meant that each time a learner became the V.I.P, they knew that there is no chance of them becoming V.I.P again until the next round of names/until the entire class names have been exhausted. This also made it easy for them to guess whose name had been picked when there were a few learners left. Thereafter, I have now written each learners name twice, folded up and placed into the case. The learners are now aware that their names can be picked again even if they have been V.I.P once already. 2} I’ve used the above method also with a weekly V.I.P system. Method: If the learner’s name was picked on Monday, I would keep them on their toes till Friday to see who the V.I.P for next week is going to be. This also works very well. Alhumdulillāh. See the pics below for “What privileges does a V.I.P get?” (This will differ from classroom to classroom) and “What happens if the learner doesn’t follow expectations?” مع السلامة ♡ #classroomvip #teachingideas #madrasahteacher
”Definitely Friday is the best of days for you” أو كما قال ﷺ
Due to most of us living in Non-Muslim countries, Friday is a “normal” working, school and Madrasah day.
In order to ensure that the sanctity and speciality of Friday is maintained, we, as the teachers of Deen need to try to revive this from our classrooms.
Let’s make Friday the BEST DAY in our weeks and in our classrooms.
Let’s show them how the best day is supposed to be spent.
This checklist will inshā Allāh assist us in making Friday a special day in the lives of our children/students and in our classrooms.
I’ve displayed this in the classroom and on the Madrasah notice board so that everyone is reminded of it.
Let us try to practise the Sunnah acts of Friday in our classroom:
Read Surah Kahf together with the learners. (Or the first and last ten ayāt/verses)
Lots of Durood/Salawāt especially the 80 durood/salawāt after ‘Asr Salāh
Ask the questions on the Friday checklist- Morivate them to wear their best kurta or abaya on Friday
Make a special time for Duā’ after ‘Asr Salāh either individually or collectively
Explain the virtues of Friday and Jumu’ah
Many teachers do a special activity or craft or bring an extra special treat on a Friday for their learners and if you have the time, then that’s a really great idea also. ⭐

Settling into routine and setting rules and procedures at the beginning of the year are some of the most important topics that are spoken about and researched by teachers every year.
Sometimes, I feel like I sound like a broken record or I should have recorded myself and play that recording daily, haha. So instead of doing something clown-ish, I came up with a solution that has Alhumdulillah worked for me.
This post is going to provide you with a tool that will inshaAllah assist with settling into routine without repeating yourself over and over again.
This printable can be used in different ways:
I printed and laminated a few of these and stuck them at strategic points and would refer to it as: “have you followed the checklist today?”
This year, I’ve placed a checklist on each learner’s desk and will also refer to it like before.
The printable could be printed as A3 and hung up / stuck up in the classroom also.
A checklist could be placed on each learner’s shelf or personal file.
P.S: This will work effectively with lots of encouragement and incentives also.
If you would like an editable version of this checklist, please feel free to dm, email or comment below.
January to April..well, it certainly has been a long time since I have posted here but if you had a been following on Instagram @madrasahteachers , you would have seen some regular updates.
For us in South Africa, it is the start of a new term.. Term 2 of 4 of 2019 and I hope everyone is having a good one so far. Hop over to our insta to see some special dates to diaries for this term and let us know what you are looking forward to this term.
May Allah bless us with a fruitful term and accept all our humble efforts. Amin.
Without much further ado from my side.. I present to you a gift tag I had made for the beginning of Term 1. This is a versatile gift tag and can be used at any time of the year. I bought colour rulers (Blue for the boys and pink for the girls) and attached this tag with tape. The tags were printed onto yellow cardstock (for a pop of colour).
Hope it is beneficial for all and it keeps the muhabbah (love) growing in our classrooms. “Give gifts to one another, you will love one another” – Hadith
