Alhumdulillāh, we have reached the halfway mark! May Allāh accept. Āmīn
I made the 1st page of this activity to do with my students today. Alhumdulillāh, it is an activity that can be done by anyone from Age 10+.
(Yep, even adults may find these beneficial, Alhumdulillāh!)
The 2nd 2 pages of the Activity can be done in the last few days of Ramadan or after Ramadan.
You could even cut the text boxes out and stick them to a bulletin board, or classroom display wall. And there will be so many useful discussions come out of this Inshā’Allāh.
Keep a look out on my pages (Telegram, Instagram and WhatsApp) to see the end result of these in my classroom.
The idea for this stemmed from the Arabic Airplane Themed video that does its rounds every year at the start of Ramadan, if you’ve seen it, you know how amazingly done that is! And if you know me, you know how much I love Airplane Themed stuff! (Hehe)
You’ll find the Boarding Pass and Luggage Tag has two styles: The first is Sha’ban to Ramadan and the second is Dunya to Jannah.
I had planned these activities for last year – but, we were online during Ramadan so Alhumdulillah, finally got to do them this year and the kiddos are loving it!
They are taking it so seriously and ready to kick anyone out (of the class!) who didn’t bring their boarding pass or luggage daily! Hehe
I know your kids will enjoy it too so go ahead and print!
Remember me in your special duas during these Muabrak days
All praise is due to Allah who has allowed us to reach the month of Ramadan 1442ah.
There are so so many beautiful Ramadan activities out there and it’s amazing to see how creative every Apa, Muallimah and mum is out there in creating beautiful activities and spaces for Ramadan. (I hope to be as creative some day Insha Allah!!)
Here are some activities I’ve put together in 1441 and 1442. I hope you find them useful Insha Allah.
From the Ahadīth of the Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم, we are taught to teach children to pray Salāh from age 7.
Alhumdulillāh, we as teachers encourage this but as they grow older, it’s important for us to instil the importance of not missing a Salāh in them.
Last year, I was teaching 9-10year olds and when all of them had turned 10, I decided to do a 𝐒𝐩𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐠𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐮𝐩 𝐎𝐮𝐫 𝐒𝐚𝐥ā𝐡 𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐦𝐞 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐦𝐨𝐧𝐭𝐡 of 𝐒𝐞𝐩𝐭𝐞𝐦𝐛𝐞𝐫.
This post has details regarding Week 1 of the theme. InshaAllah, more to come regarding the next weeks.
I bought oval-shaped clocks for the boys and heart shaped ones for the girls. (Clocks were purchased from Durban – Osman’s for approx. R35 each)
The reason for gifting them the alarm clocks was to teach them responsibility and to create awareness in their homes also.
The purpose of creating the theme was to create interest and support to the students in performing all 5 Salāh as many kids feel unsupported from their parents and home situations.

At the beginning of every year, I love playing games or doing other activities for the learners to get to know each other and for me to also learn more about them.
Finding appropriate activities in this regard hasn’t been difficult but I wanted to create one with an Islamic ethos.
This ALL ABOUT ME activity reinforces Aqeedah of Allah AL-Khaliq, AL-Wadood and students will have fun decorating and writing about themselves.
You can also use this as an icebreaker activity and ask learners to present this in front of you and their classmates.
I hope you find this useful and beneficial for your classroom and students inshaAllah.
Relax Testing Tips Poster created for my classroom
Exams, Tests, Marks and End of the year = High stress levels & anxiety for students & teachers.
While most of us will be using our best stern face during the next few weeks, here are a few 💡𝐓𝐢𝐩𝐬 𝐨𝐧 𝐜𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐚 𝐏𝐨𝐬𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐞 𝐓𝐞𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠/𝐄𝐱𝐚𝐦 𝐄𝐧𝐯𝐢𝐫𝐨𝐧𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭💖
➡️𝟏~ 𝐌𝐚𝐤𝐞 𝐈𝐭 𝐂𝐨𝐦𝐟𝐨𝐫𝐭𝐚𝐛𝐥𝐞
Even small environmental changes for students can result in big changes in performance.
When students are more relaxed, they tend to perform better and this is particularly true for students who face academic challenges.
After creating this poster, someone very dear to me asked me to create the same poster for her so I thought of designing it on the computer instead of making another one!
I wanted to create them as cost effective (less ink) and with calm colours so it can be of benefit to anyone inshaAllah
➡️𝟐~ 𝐆𝐞𝐭 𝐎𝐫𝐠𝐚𝐧𝐢𝐳𝐞𝐝
Make sure your students have everything they will need to take the tests, including a ruler, eraser, pencils and colours.
I like to make them make a list of what they’ll need and bring all items neatly labelled 1/2 days prior to exams.
➡️𝟑~ 𝐒𝐩𝐚𝐜𝐞 𝐨𝐮𝐭 𝐬𝐞𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠
Allow them to keep their usual ‘places’ for comfort but extra spaced out than usual to minimize distraction and temptation to cheat. I like to give them cardboard folders to place in front of them to cover their tests and keep them focused on their own tests.
➡️𝟒~ 𝐃𝐮𝐚
Most importantly, Start every exam session with 2 Rakaats of Nafl Salaah and Dua.
Share your go-to tips for the classroom during testing below👇🏼
Each child is rewarded with a sticker for every Surah/Dua/Hadith read correctly. At the end, teacher can reward them according to how many stickers they have.
𝐏𝐢𝐜𝐤 𝐮𝐩 𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐜𝐤𝐬/𝐈𝐜𝐞 𝐜𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐦 𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐜𝐤𝐬
Stick a piece of paper with the name of Surahs/Duas/Hadeeth onto the sticks. Students have to read it correctly before being allowed to keep the stick. Player with the most sticks wins.
𝐌𝐚𝐭𝐜𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐠
Match the surah/dua/hadeeth to its name. Students have to read it correctly before taking the set. (Create your own cards by photocopying the Surahs/Duas/Hadeeth from your kitab and lay them out on a desk/table upside down)
𝐏𝐚𝐬𝐬 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐩𝐚𝐫𝐜𝐞𝐥
Wrap up a class gift or class incentive (such as ice cream day or outside free play time) with many layers of paper (we always have some used paper lying around in our classes, don’t we?)
Each layer should have a piece of paper with a surah/dua/hadeeth name. Students have to read correctly before unwrapping the layer, if they can’t, make sure to have a plan in mind for them to learn it correctly.
𝟑𝟎 𝐬𝐞𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐝𝐬
Use any game board from a board game (P.s: make sure it has no animate objects/features) Make your own question cards or stick Surah/Dua/Hadeeth names onto the board. You can pair up or make teams for this game and use the 30 seconds timer to see how many Surahs/Duas/Hadeeth can be recited in 30 seconds.
𝐂𝐚𝐭𝐜𝐡
Apa throws a bouncy or beach ball at learners in random. Students have to catch the ball and correctly read the Surah/Dua/Hadeeth that the Apa chooses in order to remain in the game.
𝐒𝐩𝐢n 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐛𝐨𝐭𝐭𝐥𝐞/Stick
Students on each end of the bottle may test each other a Surah/Dua/Hadeeth of their choice.
May Allah make it easy for us to assist the students in our care to keep their memorization strong and accept all our efforts.

Surely, those who annoy Allah and His Messenger are cursed by Allah in this world and in the Hereafter, and He has prepared for them a humiliating punishment. [Surah Al-Ahzab 57]
Amidst the different types of heinous acts being perpetrated by the French against our Beloved Nabi Muhammad ﷺ, I prepared this activity for my classes last week to complete in order for them to understand the importance of defending the honour of Nabi Muhammad ﷺ.
